I was asked by the recipient of this retirement verse to transform it into a sampler as the original bit of paper on which it was written was fading badly! I chose happy colours which toned with the background fabric and also with the decor of the house where it would hang. The fabric was from Silkweaver and I used DMC threads. |

This was made for the same person as the retirement sampler. The verse was written by her son in memory of his father. The hand-dyed fabric from Silkweaver was ideal for the project and the threads were DMC. |

I went to a class to learn how to make this. For the first time ever I managed to complete something during the duration of the class. I made the pockets in 2 different colours as I hadn't got enough fabric to make all 4 pockets in the same colour. |

This was actually made by 4 people - all of us members of A Noble Needle. I started it off and then it went to Utah, Canada and Oregon before coming home. The theme was the Outlander books by Diana Gabaldon, hence the Scottish emphasis. |

This is one of Bent Creek's Zippy designs. The coarse linen and perle cotton made a change from the finer work I usually do. I like the blackbird button - it gives the design that little extra something. |

This is a lovely design by Just Nan. The gingham fabric is quite unusual but easy to work on once you get the hang of it. As it's a Christmas design I decided to turn it into a wallhanging rather than having it framed - it takes up less storage space that way. |

This little Christmas ornament is a Betsy Stinner design which I received as part of a door prize when attending a Stitcher's Hideaway retreat in Massachusetts in 2003. I'll hang it on the tree for the first time this year. |

I got the pattern for this as a free chart fom somewhere, but I can't remember where. It uses redwork techniques, although I used blue silk to stitch it. I put my initials and the date on the back. |
